New article on the Role of Research in Schools

Making sure that schools are implementing ‘tried and tested’ approaches on the ground should not be the only conversation happening about research in schools.

We’re excited to share a new article from ASCD based on ideas from the Inquiry-Driven Innovation book! This article talks about how research evidence can be used to support inquiry-driven innovation in schools. In the piece, we share four proposals for the use of research in schools in ways that consider how research findings can add to and extend an inquiry-based approach to changes in practice in both individual classrooms and whole schools. As we note in the article, “this approach casts educators as drivers in finding, using, adapting, and critically evaluating research evidence that is appropriate to the unique contexts in which they work.”
